Jim Beaugez

Jim Beaugez has two decades of experience writing for a variety of platforms and developing content marketing strategies and assets in the technology, music, audio-visual, software, non-profit and travel industries.

Beaugez’s writing has been published by New York Times, Rolling Stone, Smithsonian, Oxford American, Outside, Garden & Gun, Guitar Player, Guitar World and many other publications and outlets. He contributed to the 64th and 65th Grammy Awards official publications and created and produced “My Life in Five Riffs,” a documentary series for Guitar Player that traces contemporary musicians back to their sources of inspiration.

His music journalism has been cited as source material in books like “Corporate Rock Sucks: The Rise and Fall of SST Records” [2022, Hachette] and “Americanaland: Where Country & Western Met Rock ‘n’ Roll” [2021, Univ. Press of Illinois], and his Guitar Aficionado profile of author Greg Iles is featured in the trade paperback and digital editions of the New York Times-bestselling novel “Mississippi Blood” [2018, William Morrow/Harper Collins].

“The Dog Hunter,” his fiction debut, was published in the “Mid/South Anthology” from Belle Point Press in September 2022 and nominated for a Pushcart Prize.

Beaugez has presented writing and media sessions at marketing and PR conferences and served as moderator for an author panel on Mississippi blues music at the 2019 Mississippi Book Festival.
